Antigua - 10000 miles away and 500 years back in time

Antigua is an amazing old collonial city. It was the capital city at one stage but largely destroyed by an earthquake in the C15th. The remains have been preserved and partially rebuilt but there are no new buldings. The streets are narrow and cobbled, old buildings and ancient ruins everywhere. The town is quite high and surrounded by volcanos.

These beautiful birds were in the grounds of Casa Santo Domingo - a museum come hotel/restaurant/conference centre.

Lovely to see our favourite smiling faces and not a bandito in sight. There is no doubting Jamies's paternity!! Castro lives to bark another day... M&R
